Adult Outpatient Behavioral Health Programs

Connecticut Renaissance's Norwalk, Stamford, and Bridgeport Adult Outpatient Programs provide treatment to individuals with substance abuse and addiction problems, psychiatric disorders and/or co-existing substance abuse and psychiatric disorders.

The outpatient programs serve clients referred through local hospitals, detoxes, therapists in private practice, employers, family, friends, the welfare system, adult probation, parole, other treatment facilities,. The length of the program is dependent on the client's needs and progress. The program also encourages the participation of family and/or significant others in treatment when appropriate.

The services offered in our outpatient programs include--but are not limited to--individual counseling, group therapy, intensive outpatient treatment, stress management, psychoeducational groups, couples enrichment, family therapy, anger management and relapse prevention. In addition to prescribed therapies, the staff recognizes the importance of self-help groups available in the community.

Virtually all of the services offered come from widely renowned evidence-based therapies which have undergone scientific rigor and research, proving them to be productive methods in which to gain positive treatment outcomes. There is a specific model utilized for anger management issues (Anger Management for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Clients), one for substance use and mental health issues (Motivational Enhancement Therapy/Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-12), and a specific model utilized for our Intensive Outpatient Treatment Programs (the Matrix Model).

All staff are well-trained clinicians, many of whom have "walked a mile" in their clients' shoes, and all of whom exude genuine care and understanding of their clients' needs. At minimum, all are certified substance abuse counselors, and most have master level degrees with expertise in compulsive gambling, marriage and family counseling, social work, anxiety and depression, bereavement, or other areas.

Additionally, all three clinics have a psychiatrist on staff.
