Connecticut Renaissance is contracted through the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services for the Alcohol Education Program, and we have site locations in Stamford, Norwalk and Bridgeport.

Impaired Drivers Program

Through CT Renaissance's Education Center, we provide education to those individuals who have been arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or other drugs within the State of Connecticut. This service is also available to those Connecticut drivers who may have been arrested out-of-state and must get their education needs met in order to satisfy the conditions associated with the arrest.

Upon referral each participant is given an initial evaluation by a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. Based on this evaluation each client is then placed into one of the two levels of education. Level One is 15 hours of education in 10 weekly groups that meet once a week for 90 minutes. Level Two is 22.5 hours of education in 15 weekly groups of 90 minutes duration. These groups are educational, interactive and address attitudinal and behavioral changes.
